Juan 'Punchy' Gonzalez
Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez is a record producer/artist who has worked with many artists including Morbid Angel, Christian Death, Lover of Sin, Nile. He was also the guitarist/producer of his own band, Diet of Worms.
Juan Carlos Gonzalez was born in Tampa, Florida and is of Spanish descent. He was raised in the theatre and became a stage manager by the age of 13. Gonzalez then became an audio engineer and started touring full-time in his mid-twenties.
Gonzalez has been the owner and operator of D.O.W. Studios in Mango, Florida since 2003.
DOW Studios expanded in 2006 to include video production. The first music video treatment for Nile (band)’s “Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve its Possessor from He who is in the Water” produced by Punchy Productions and received 8 straight weeks of play on MTV's Headbangers Ball. Punchy Productions went on to produce a yet unreleased video for King's X and several live videos filmed for Alexa Ray Joel. In 2009, the Nile (band) video "Permitting the Noble Dead" premiered on MTV Europe and other outlets.
Punchy continues to record in D.O.W. Studios, recording the newest Morbid Angel record Illud Divinum Insanus
